What is an inbox placement test?

It's a test that shows where your email actually lands (the primary inbox, promotions, or the spam folder) across real seed accounts at every major provider. Unlike a delivery report, which only tells you a message was accepted, a placement test reveals the folder it ended up in, so you know how many recipients will really see it.

Which providers do you test?

Gmail, Outlook / Microsoft 365, Yahoo, Zoho, iCloud and other major mailbox providers. Each is reported separately, because the same email can land in the inbox at one provider and in spam at another.

How does it work?

You send a test email, either by pasting your subject and body, or firing it from a connected mailbox, to a panel of Outboundry seed inboxes. We read each one, record the exact folder it arrived in, and combine that with authentication, blacklist and spam-content checks into a single placement report.

What does the placement score mean?

It's the share of seed inboxes that received your email in the primary inbox, expressed as a 0–100 score. Higher is better. The report also shows the promotions, spam and missing rates so you can see exactly where the gaps are.

Does it check authentication and blacklists too?

Yes. Every test validates your SPF, DKIM, DMARC and reverse-DNS records, checks your sending domain and IP against 30+ blocklists, and scores your subject and body for spam triggers, with specific fixes for anything that fails.

Can I test automatically over time?
